Christmas Tree Ornaments

Every year, since Aiden’s first Christmas, I’ve bought him an ornament to hang on the tree. It gets wrapped up, sent to Santa who then puts it in his Christmas stocking so that he can add it to the tree on Christmas morning.
I carried on this tradition with both girls and when they’re all older with homes of their own, I’m going to package up their collection of tree ornaments and give them to them on their first Christmas day in their new home.
You can see some of their ornaments from previous years on this post.

I usually get the ornaments from B&Q. They always have a really good range and they’re not expensive.
This year, I saw these on the Very website and added them to my basket, to be delivered with my next order:

I love nutcracker ornaments and these come in a set of three, each a different colour, one for each child. They cost £12 for 3 which is about double what I usually spend but I fell in love with them and decided to go for it.
Then, I decided to have a no credit Christmas so the nutcrackers had to go!

I’d forgotten I was going to buy these when I decided to have the no credit Christmas, which is probably a good idea because if I’d remembered, I might have gone and ordered them before declaring to the world on my blog that I wasn’t going to use any credit this year!
I’m really pleased I didn’t spend that amount of money on 3 Christmas ornaments and even more pleased that today I’ve decided to make the ornaments this year 🙂

Mum gave us some left over red and green felt for a project the girls wanted to do a few weeks ago and they didn’t use it all so I’m going to find some templates to print out and sew them each a felt ornament.
You never know, it might become a new tradition….a handmade Christmas tree ornament instead of a store bought one!
