The Gallery – Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Back in 2005, three of Ant’s six children were in the RAF and one of them got free tickets for us to attend the Waddington Airshow.
I was 8 months pregnant at the time and it was an extremely hot day. The car park was miles from the family marquee and I really struggled walking all the way in that heat.

We finally made it to the marquee, found a table to call our own, stocked up drinks and that’s where I stayed for the rest of the day!
I love airshows and this was a good one, even with the disappointment of one of the planes breaking down and going on the day that the Red Arrows performance was going to be after we’d left!

Aiden was 5 at the time and he loved it all, even when he had to cover his ears because one of the planes was too loud for him to cope with!

I love these old planes, they look like they come from another world.

Great pictures! I love how dark the plane and helicopter look against the bright sky 🙂 x

We are going to shuttleworth in the summer. We'll see the old planes but sadly not flying.

Looks like a great day out. My friend is posted at Waddington. Maybe we should take a trip there next time!
