Daddy’s birthday

Daddy got kicked out of bed yesterday morning by two little monsters who wanted to come for cuddles with Mummy. We didn’t stay in bed long though because the girls wanted to take Daddy’s presents to him and my back was hurting.
They rushed off to get his presents and we went down to Daddy; the girls couldn’t resist giving him a helping hand with opening his presents. You’d have thought they’d never seen the contents before with the amount of excitement they were showing, let alone being the ones to wrap them in the first place!

We spent most of the morning making salt dough tree ornaments. The girls had a great time and we had to make a second batch of dough once they used the first batch because they were enjoying themselves so much. (They’re still in their pyjamas because they decided to have a pj day!)

We’re letting them air dry. We won’t be painting them until the first weekend in December when the kids are home for the weekend again (all 3 children go to Aiden’s dad’s for 2 weekends then have the 3rd weekend at home) so that will give them plenty of time to make sure they’re totally dry. It also meant we saved money by not drying them in the oven which is always a bonus.

After Sunday lunch, the girls played while Ant and I relaxed for a while then we all jumped in the car and went to Hartsholme Park.
It’s really lovely there. They have a great playground and the whole of Lincoln must agree because it seemed like the whole of Lincoln was there! The girls didn’t play long because there were too many other children and they couldn’t get on much without having to wait around so we cut the playground visit short and went for a walk in the woods.
I took loads of photos but for some reason, loads of them didn’t turn out as well as they usually do.
I’ve messed around with some using Picasa to make them a little better but I have to admit to being very disappointed with them.

We’ll just have to go back again soon so I can try and get some better ones.

As the light dwindled, we decided to make our way home so the kids could have some tea and then light the candles on Daddy’s birthday cake.

A lovely day was finished off with everyone sitting down to relax in front of the tv. Ice age 3 was on and it made us all laugh.

I can’t wait for our next weekend together because we’re going to put our Christmas decorations up. Ella keeps shaking with excitement when we talk about it and I have to admit that her excitement is contagious 🙂
