Angel Delight was a favourite dessert when I was growing up, probably like many people my age.
I remember always looking forward to family parties where my Nan-Nan (we’ve called my Grandmother, Nan-Nan from when we could talk and we still do) was doing the catering because her food was always wonderful.
My favourite part was always the desserts, as you’d probably guess.
Nan-Nan would make a blackcurrant jelly, top it with a blackcurrant Angel Delight (which I haven’t seen for years and reallllyyyyy really miss!) then pipe whipped cream on the top of that.
It truly was THE BEST dessert my childhood self ever had!
I’ve tried it with strawberry jelly and Angel Delight but it’s just not the same. Maybe I should start a petition to get them to bring back blackcurrant Angel Delight!
We were sent some of the new bubblegum flavour Angel Delight and rather than use both packets to make a dessert, we decided to use one of them to make the milkshake, using the directions on the back of the packet. It was delicious 🙂

I bought other flavours of Angel Delight and we decided to make pancake faces using sweets, jelly and the Angel Delight 🙂
I’m currently on Slimming World so I decided to leave out the pancake and just have an Angel Delight layered dessert with a few sweets to make the face 🙂
Definitely worth the syns!
Kaycee and Ella loved making their pancake faces but next time we need to make the pancakes a lot smaller! They kept piling on jelly and sweets and squirty cream then struggled to eat it!
I think when my kids grow up, their Angel Delight memories will be the layered desserts because they love making them in tall glasses for a special dessert 🙂
While looking through my albums on my phone to get the pictures for this blog post, I found some selfies Ella had taken while I was busy cooking the pancakes!
