I think buying an Experience Day as a gift is an excellent idea for many people. There are so many to choose from and I know lots of my friends and family would be delighted to receive one.
For me, however, I’ve never really looked into the options as I always believed the majority of them wouldn’t be suitable for me due to my limited mobility and not wanting to travel very far as it can be uncomfortable for me.

I’ve recently had my mind changed, I’m happy to say!

WonderDays

WonderDays recently got in touch and asked if I’d like to receive a voucher to try one of the experience days. Straight away I began planning the rejection email informing them that I wasn’t really suited to experience days etc, but I decided I should check the site out properly before replying.

Website Review

Firstly, I really like the layout of the site. It’s got a good design with very easy navigation, which, let’s face it, is probably the most important aspect of a site.

I like being able to go straight to a location or an occasion to see the options for each from the menu at the top of the page.

Further down the page you can click to see the most popular experiences, get inspiration from their blog posts and read other people’s reviews.

One of the things I liked the most was being able to see the location of each experience day on the thumbnail images which meant I didn’t have to click on each link to find the details.

As expected, there were driving experiences, sports days including watersports, adventure days, spa days and days out at UK attractions to name a few.

I did consider things like afternoon teas, going to the theatre or even a spa for the day but quickly dismissed them because 1) I don’t really like eating out, 2) I have trouble fitting in theatre and cinema seats comfortably and 3) I don’t even know why I considered a spa day because there’s no way I have the confidence to even go through the door!

Food & Drink

Whilst checking the food and drink category I was surprised to see that some of the locations on the thumbnails said Location Online.

I loved that I could reply to the initial email and tell them that, yes please, I’d love to receive a voucher!

I really liked the idea of creating my own hamper and as my birthday was coming up I decided to create a special picnic lunch I could have on my birthday with my husband.

Validating the voucher was very simple and all I had to do after that was to email Devon Hampers with my order.

I was pleased that I could choose the delivery date as my birthday was a week away and I didn’t want it to arrive too soon.

I chose the £75 hamper and when I’d finished choosing the items, I sent the links to Devon Hampers. We discussed the delivery date required.
I really liked that it could be delivered on a day chosen by me and I had it delivered the day before my birthday.

Look out for my Devon Hampers review post coming soon.

Conclusion

I’m very impressed with WonderDays. The site, as I said, is great; everything was easy and went smoothly. If I decide to give an Experience Gift in the future, I’ll certainly be using WonderDays to do it!

Please note: I received a voucher to enable me to provide an honest review
