Caught By Harlan Coben – Book Review #13

This year is flying by. I’ve not been able to get ahead on my reading challenge yet and I was hoping that by now I’d be at least a couple of books ahead. I’m planning on reading the Game Of Thrones series soon and I don’t think I’m going to be able to read them each in a week, they’re huge!
I was happy to be reading Caught by Harlan Coben, I managed to finish it in less than a week so I do at least now have a chance of getting ahead!

Caught By Harlan Coben

Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:

Seventeen-year-old Haley McWaid never gave her parents a moment’s worry. Until one morning her mother wakes to find that Haley didn’t come home the night before. Three months quickly pass without a word, and everyone assumes the worst. Wendy Tynes is a reporter on a mission: to identify and bring down sexual predators via televised sting operations. Her latest target is Dan Mercer, a social worker known as a friend to troubled teens. But his story soon becomes more complicated than Wendy could have imagined. CAUGHT tells the story of a missing girl, the community stunned by her loss, the predator who may have taken her, and the reporter who suddenly realises she can’t trust her own instincts about this story – or the motives of the people around her.

My Thoughts

I was glad to be back reading a Harlan Coben story and even more so when Win, from the Myron Bolitar series, made an unexpected appearance. I got stupidly excited when Wendy made a phone call and the person answered with the word, articulate.

This one did keep me guessing as to what had happened to Haley and whether Dan was really innocent or not.
It was also a bit scary seeing how easily someone can use the internet to damage a person’s reputation.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.

This sounds good. I still haven’t got round to trying a Harlan Coben book yet even though I’ve read lots of your reviews

Great review as made me intrigued. Not an author I had heard of before. I am behind with so many books this year so need not get too tempted by new ones but this one could definitely tempt me. Also I think it is always so challenging when we start to question our own judgement so that aspect interests me too. #ReadWithMe
