First Step To Becoming Smokefree With E-Cigarettes

When I stopped smoking back in June 2009, I just stopped. It wasn’t with the aid of patches or E-cigarettes or anything like that, I stopped because I had a very good reason to stop.

I nearly died.

I developed a blood clot in my leg which broke up and travelled to my lungs. It’s called a Pulmonary Embolism and it was one of the scariest things I’ve ever had happen to me,

Smoke-Free Using E-Cigarettes

My husband, Ant, had also been trying to quit smoking at the same time as I was. He wasn’t doing very well until he tried E-Cigarettes.

He’s now been a non-smoker for around 3 and a half years. Whenever the conversation turns to quitting smoking he tells everyone how easy he found it to quit using E-Cigarettes. Ant never believed he could quit smoking and even to this day he’s amazed he did it.

Last weekend I went to visit my family and we got talking about smoking. My sister-in-law, Kirsty, told me how she’d not had a proper cigarette in over 3 years. She still has E-Cigarettes but she doesn’t use liquids that contain nicotine anymore. There are so many different types and flavours of liquids, it can be hard to decide between different ones!

She’s now just a social smoker, going days without thinking about it, but enjoys to smoke when she’s out with family and friends.

No Smell And Other Benefits

For me, the best thing about friends and family changing to E-Cigarettes has to be not having to put up with that cigarette smell.
You don’t notice it when you smoke yourself but since quitting, the smell can really turn my stomach. I never complain though because I know what it’s like having previous smokers preaching at you!

When Ant moved from cigarettes to an E-Cigarette I was so pleased because of the decreased risk of smoking E-Liquids. It didn’t take him long at all to go from a nicotine liquid to nicotine free. We all know the damage nicotine and all the other chemicals cigarettes contain does to our bodies so it was a relief that he was no longer smoking proper cigarettes 🙂

Everyone I’ve spoken to recently who has managed to give up smoking has done so with the aid of an E-Cigarette.
