Who am I? – #Blogtober16

I saw that Kim from Northumberland Mam is going to be taking part in Blogtober. I didn’t have a clue what it was!

Turns out, it’s a list of prompts to do a post a day in October and It’s being run by Hex Mum Plus 1 so I figured I’d give it a go ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been trying to be more organised so this will be great for me. I’m planning on scheduling the posts in advance. This will give me more time to spend with the husband in the evening. I’ve been trying to step away from the laptop in the evenings. I found myself only half-watching things with Ant. I was feeling guilty that my attention was on the laptop and not on my husband and our time together in the evenings.

The first prompt is ‘Who are you?’ so here’s a bit about me ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m Michelle but most people call me Shell. I’m 40 and from Lincoln. I have a 16-year-old son called Aiden, an 11-year-old daughter called Kaycee and a 9-year-old daughter called Ella.
I also have 5 stepsons, a stepdaughter and 2 step-grandsons who are the same ages as our girls!

The super wonderful husband and I met in an MSN parenting group. We’ve been together for 13 years and married since 2005.

We’re both self-employed, working from home.

I volunteer at our local St Barnabas charity shop two mornings a week. I work on the book section. I’ve been working there for 2 years next month and absolutely love it. The only downside, though, is that I spend far too much money on books! Today, for example, my bag of books cost me ยฃ28. Some of them are for Christmas presents for the husband (he doesn’t like me to spend money on new books when we can get them for a quid in the charity shop!).

I’m nutty about Christmas; absolutely love everything about it. I buy things for Christmas all year and start making my lists and getting organised as soon as the girls go back to school in September!

Talking of Christmas, I bought a Christmas movie DVD today from the charity shop. It’s called Remember The Night and stars Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Beulah Bondi. I’m thinking of watching it sometime this weekend but I’m going to try and wait until it’s closer to Christmas. I’m not sure I’m going to hold out that long, though!

I think that’s enough about me for now ๐Ÿ™‚

Come back tomorrow to see ‘An Old Photo Of Me

Welcome to #Blogtober16 so pleased you decided to join us, our house is like a library, all nine of us adore books, so if anyone in our two families are have a book clearout, they usually end up here, in fact I have more bookcases than any other items of furniture! I LOVE Christmas too, but I am never organised when it comes to buying presents, thank goodness for things like Amazon Prime! I look forward to reading more during October xx

Good luck with the challenge! I hope you get some time to spend with Ant.
Oh wow! I used to love MSN parenting groups….I was a member of so many and spent hours on them especially when my eldest was a newborn.
I can’t wait to read the rest of your posts ๐Ÿ˜€ x

Same here with the MSN groups. I LOVED them and was quite sad when they stopped doing them. I helped to run one of the largest Paint Shop Pro MSN groups with my friend. I spent hours in the groups. We had over 10,000 members and thousands of posts a day! It was like having a full-time job that we didn’t get paid for but it was great having so many online friends.
Looking forward to seeing your posts this month ๐Ÿ™‚
