My Fashion Conscious Girls

It’s safe to say I’m not fashion conscious. I’m not into buying clothes for myself and when I do, it’s out of necessity rather than an urge to own something new.
The last time I did buy something new, it was in the sales because I don’t like paying full price for my clothes!

Fashion Conscious

Kaycee and Ella, on the other hand, LOVE buying new clothes. They’re always asking me if this top goes with that skirt or does this handbag match the scarf that they want to wear. It drives me mad because I’m rubbish with fashion so I’m really not the person to ask these kinds of questions!
Their sister, Kellyann, is always clothes shopping for them and they always love what she buys so she obviously knows her stuff when it comes to fashion for 10 and 12-year-olds!
I thank Facetime or Messenger or whatever app it is they use to video call her because it saves them having to ask me!

Don’t get me wrong, I do like buying them new clothes, I’m just not very good at choosing what they’ll like. I visit sites (such as Esprit) to look at clothes for them and add them to the basket but I’ve learnt not click Buy Now until I’ve shown them what I was going to buy. On the one hand, it means I can’t really surprise them but on the other, I’m not wasting money on clothes they don’t like.

I saw this jumper from Esprit the other day I knew it would be perfect for Ella. It totally sums her up! She loves the colours pink and purple and she’s totally wild 🙂
With the cooler weather on the way, she needs more jumpers and cardigans. I know if I show her this jumper, she’ll want me to buy it purely because it has sequins on! It doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s sparkly, she’ll want it!

Her sister, Kellyann recently bought her a t-shirt with a unicorn on the front that is made from sequins. I’ve never seen her so excited to get a new t-shirt 🙂

It’s not just daytime clothes they’re fashion conscious about, they have to have fashionable pyjamas as well, even though no one but me and their dad sees them at night!

Kaycee would love these Esprit pyjamas because they look so comfy

I don’t mind them being fashion conscious at all, what I do mind is the number of times they change clothes and put the clean to wash. That I can do without!

My autumn wardrobe wish list

Autumn clothes wish list

Out of the blue, Kaycee asked me a question the other day. She wanted to know if I ever bought clothes for myself. She’s used to us buying clothes for her and Ella when we’re out shopping but she couldn’t remember seeing me buy any clothes for myself.
The reason for that is because I don’t buy clothes for myself! I figured it was about time I changed that seeing as it’s getting colder now it’s autumn. I only really have 2 warm cardigans that I like and they’re both looking decidedly tatty!

So here’s my wish list to help me stay warm and cosy :0)

autumn wardrobe Top Shop longline funnel neck jumper Love the Sales
Top Shop – was £17.99 now £13.49
Autumn wardrobe Love the Sales Marisota asymmetric top
Fifty Plus – Was £25.00 now £8.00
Autumn wardrobe Love the Sales Fashion World trousers
Fashion World – Was £15 now £12

I’ve picked a new coat as well from the women’s coat sale section. The one I currently wear was purchased by me in 1999! The reason I remember is because not long after I bought it, I got pregnant and couldn’t wear it for a while. My son was born in April 2000 and I’ve been wearing it every winter since!

I have bought one other winter coat but gave it to the charity shop after never wearing it because it wasn’t as comfy as my old one!

I went to Love the Sales to find my wish list items. I don’t like paying a lot for my clothes when I have to buy them so I figured this would be the perfect place to find bargains. Talking of which, Black Friday will be with us soon. Here’s the link to find your own Black Friday bargains and if you’re after some new perfume (I am, I’ve decided I’m not saving perfume for best anymore, life’s too short for that nonsense!) check out the perfume sale. I’ll be adding some to my Christmas wish list when the family asks me what I want 🙂

You’re welcome 🙂

Christmas Party Dresses from StyleWe

Christmas party dresses

I know lots of you don’t like talking about Christmas this early but as you probably know, I’m nutty about it! I start my full-scale planning as soon as the kids go back to school in September!
Seeing as it’s now October, I figured it would be a good time to start thinking about Christmas party dresses and planning ahead so we can look fabulous.
With this in mind, I’ve been perusing the long evening dresses at StyleWe. There are some gorgeous styles.

I found myself gravitating towards red and green, because, you know, Christmas, but figured other colours are good as well!

Window shopping!

Window Shopping

One of the great things about the internet is being able to go window shopping at 10 o clock at night, in the cosiness of your own home!

I’m not usually one to bother with new clothes; I prefer to spend the money on clothes for the kids rather than myself. Just lately, though, I’ve been thinking it would be nice to have something different to wear.

I went to a ladies day at my friend’s pub yesterday and I was very underdressed. I’ve never really been a fan of dresses but all the ladies looked really nice in their posh dresses and hats and I went wearing a black top that has a glittery effect and a pair of black trousers.
It would have been nice to wear a dress for a change (not sure I could pull off a hat, though!), like these from StyleWe.

I’ve also been looking at new coats. The coat I have is about 17 years old. I bought it from Bon Marche before Aiden (16) was born. It’s about time I had a new one!

I love this coat but I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to buy it, I’m usually a little more conservative!

It’s my 40th birthday next month. I think I might treat myself to something new to wear for when we go for a meal. It’ll make a change to buy an outfit for me instead of the girls!
