I love the Leafy Blinders in the Aldi Christmas advert 2019. Russel is the leader of this gang of Brussel sprouts and they’re not happy that Kevin has stolen the limelight from them at Christmas!
My favourite character from this year’s advert has to be Tiny Tom, he’s so cute when he makes the noises as he’s chomping through the ropes that are holding Kevin.
With references to the Peaky Blinders and The Greatest Showman, they’ve done it again, I love it. Well done, Aldi!
This may sound daft, but there’s a special place in my heart for the Argos Book of Dreams (as the advert is calling the Argos catalogue in the Argos Christmas advert 2019) which you can read about on my post – Argos Catalogue At Christmas 1985.
However, my nostalgia for the Argos catalogue hasn’t done anything to make me like this year’s Argos Christmas advert.
I did smile at the start when he sees the drum kit circled in the catalogue and it made him remember when he wanted a drum kit as a boy, however, it isn’t a Christmassy advert and it went on far too long.
There will probably be a condensed version on the TV which in my opinion, it needs and maybe if I’d seen a shorter version, I might have liked it a little bit more!
In comparison, last year’s Christmas Fool was Christmassy and funny.
Very’s Christmas advert is in the same animated style as previous Very adverts and I love them. They’re very sweet and always contain a lovely message about giving.
Barbour has stuck with The Snowman theme and has produced yet another great Christmas ad.
Barbour has made adverts based on The Snowman for the last 2 years and this year is no different.
A girl makes her very own snowman and waits throughout the night for her own magical adventure 🙂
I LOVED Sainsbury’s Gogglebox advert last year. Gogglebox is one our favourite shows and it was brilliant.
I like both Sansbury’s and Waitrose Christmas adverts this year and it would be hard to choose which I like the most!
This year’s Sainsbury’s advert is good fun. I have to say I wasn’t that impressed at first but it’s growing on me!
The Waitrose advert features lots of snow, which I LOVE! I also like background music, Carol Of the Bells has become a favourite of mine in recent years.
The only thing wrong with this advert is that it’s in black and white. I was reading some comments on YouTube. One of them says it would have been nice for it to morph into colour at the end when all the food is on the table. I agree. I think it would have been much better.
The Debenham’s Christmas advert 2017 is a lovely, magical, Cinderella-style story. They put a 20-second teaser video out before releasing the full version.
Debenham’s Christmas Advert 2017 – Teaser
I think this is the first time I’ve featured a Debenham’s Christmas Advert which must mean I like it better than any others they’ve done in the past 🙂
For some reason, I liked the fact that Ewan Mcgregor made a little appearance at the end!

I wasn’t going to do a post about the Tesco Christmas advert 2017; I liked it when I saw it but I didn’t think it was anything special.
Tesco Christmas Advert 2017
Now, after all the ridiculous nonsense with people getting offended because the advert shows a Muslim family celebrating Christmas, I felt I had to share it.
The #EveryonesWelcome tag that accompanies the advert is wonderful. It sums up Christmas for me and after watching the advert again and really taking notice of it, I now think it’s lovely.
To those people who are offended by the Muslim family, how do you know all the other families in the advert are Christians? What’s the bet that some of them are atheists? Are they not allowed to celebrate Christmas because they don’t believe that God or Jesus exist?
For lots of people these days Christmas is about coming together with their family, not about religion.
I know from being in some Christmas Facebook groups, people can get pretty nasty if someone mentions they don’t believe in Jesus. They’re told they’re wrong not to believe and they shouldn’t be in the Christmas group if they’re not Christian. Some of the language these people use is very offensive.
None of them sounds very Christian to me!
Live & Let Live
I reckon people should live and let live.
If you celebrate Christmas because you’re celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, enjoy the season.
If you celebrate Christmas because you’re celebrating the gift of family, enjoy the season.

I’m back with some more Christmas adverts 🙂 First up is last year’s Barbour ad. I’m showing last year’s because this year’s advert follows on from it.
Barbour Amazon Very Christmas Adverts
I must have missed this advert last year; I have no idea how!
Very Christmas Advert 2017
We record all the programmes we like to watch so we can fast forward the adverts. As I was fast-forwarding, a Christmas ad caught my eye and I had to rewind. It turned out to be the Very advert and I have to say, I loved it 🙂
Amazon Christmas Advert 2017
This Amazon advert isn’t very Christmassy but it made me smile 🙂
I’ll be back with more Christmas adverts when they’re released!
