Tesco Christmas Advert 2017 #EveryonesWelcome

I wasn’t going to do a post about the Tesco Christmas advert 2017; I liked it when I saw it but I didn’t think it was anything special.

Tesco Christmas Advert 2017

Now, after all the ridiculous nonsense with people getting offended because the advert shows a Muslim family celebrating Christmas, I felt I had to share it.
The #EveryonesWelcome tag that accompanies the advert is wonderful. It sums up Christmas for me and after watching the advert again and really taking notice of it, I now think it’s lovely.

To those people who are offended by the Muslim family, how do you know all the other families in the advert are Christians? What’s the bet that some of them are atheists? Are they not allowed to celebrate Christmas because they don’t believe that God or Jesus exist?
For lots of people these days Christmas is about coming together with their family, not about religion.

I know from being in some Christmas Facebook groups, people can get pretty nasty if someone mentions they don’t believe in Jesus. They’re told they’re wrong not to believe and they shouldn’t be in the Christmas group if they’re not Christian. Some of the language these people use is very offensive.

None of them sounds very Christian to me!

Live & Let Live

I reckon people should live and let live.

If you celebrate Christmas because you’re celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, enjoy the season.

If you celebrate Christmas because you’re celebrating the gift of family, enjoy the season.

Now a days people love to be offended by something/anything!!
I just showed my teen the advert. She loves to be offended and didn’t see anything wrong with it. I didn’t either. It is families together, celebrating. That is what Christmas is all about. x
