Wonderful Window Treatment Ideas For Your Home
This is a collaborative post
It’s hard to know what window treatments would be right for your home, whether you should opt for blinds or curtains, then it’s a question of what type of blinds or curtains you need. So, to help you make the right choice for you, here’s some window treatment inspiration that should hopefully point you in the right direction.
Double Up On Your Roller Blinds
For some things ‘less is more’, but this isn’t true when it comes to roller blinds! Normal roller blinds usually come in either dimout or blackout fabric, with dimout fabrics letting some light pass through and blackout fabrics not letting any through, this can be a pain in rooms that see use at all hours, as at night dimout blinds will let in too much light, then during the day blackout blinds will leave the room very dark.
With double roller blinds, you avoid this problem, as they’re equipped with both a blackout roller blind and a dimout roller blind, meaning no matter what time of the day it is, or what you’re doing in the room, you can always have the perfect amount of light.
Use Patterns To Create A Focal Point
Focal points are a great tool to have in your interior décor arsenal, you can use focal points to pull attention to well-decorated areas and away from areas which still need a bit of work. Even in a perfectly decorated home, having a feature piece or focal point is still helpful for creating a sense of flow throughout the home.
Patterned blinds are excellent at creating a focal point in almost any room of your home, as eye-catching patterns will draw focus and create a lovely contrast against the rest of your room. You should look for patterns that mesh well with the theme for your home’s décor, like using floral patterns in rooms with plants, for example.
Choose Curtains For A Classic Look
If you are going for a more ‘classic’ style of décor for your home, then you should avoid using blinds as for the most part blinds tend to look more modern. Curtains, on the other hand, are much more adept at providing a classical, timeless look you’d expect to find in a beautiful old country home or a stylish villa nestled in the mountains of Europe.
With curtains, the two main factors are colour and texture, you’ll want a curtain that not only fits in with the rest of your décor but one that can also use its texture to create a subtle contrast to other elements of your décor.
