We Had A Nice Anniversary, If A Little Cold, Windy And Rainy!

Here in Norfolk, we were forecast strong winds and lots of rain. The forecast was correct but we still managed to have a nice anniversary. We’ve now been married for 13 years and have been together for 15 years.

Market Gates Shopping Centre

It was cold, windy and rainy all day but we didn’t want to sit indoors again. I got wrapped up and off we went to do some shopping.
We went to Market Gates shopping centre and just inside the entrance we came across a wonderful Enchanted Wood display. It’s been made by members of the Louise Hamilton Trust who have been raising money to build a 10-bed hospice unit in the grounds of the James Paget University Hospital.

Enchanted Wood

I’ve always loved anything to do with fairies and I was delighted when I saw this enchanted wood. The amount of work that has gone into it is amazing.

We had a late lunch because we’d had a late breakfast. We just grabbed a cone of chips from the covered market. The only stalls that we open were food stalls! It was freezing but I really enjoyed my chips!

Gorleston-On-Sea

When we were all shopped out, we drove to Gorleston-On-Sea and just sat in the car park on the seafront and watched the waves. There’s something fascinating about the sea, especially when it’s a bit stormy 🙂

Nice Anniversary Dinner

Ant cooked a delicious anniversary dinner for us. We had pork steaks, Brussels, deliciously creamy mashed potato and Diane sauce.
I really enjoyed it even though I was stuffed afterwards!

Marques de Caceres Wine

Last week we were sent some Marques de Caceres bottles of wine to review. I saved them to bring on holiday with us and Ant had the Rosado Rosé wine last night with our special dinner. I decided to just have some fruit juice because I’m not a big fan of wine and we forgot to buy some lemonade so I could have a spritzer!
He said the flavour was really nice but it was a little too dry for his taste. It won’t go to waste, though, we’re going to get some lemonade today 🙂

Marques de Caceres wine

Marques de Caceres Verdejo White (£8.99)

Lovely aromatic white wine from the highly regarded Rueda region, full of character and balanced acidity. Expect nutty, herbaceous and citrus notes. Pairs well with spicy foods and grilled fish.

Marques de Caceres Rosado Rosé (£8.49)

A blend of 96% Tempranillo and 4% Grenache grapes, Marques de Caceres Rosado Rose Wine is an attractive pink wine with floral, berry notes

Marques de Caceres Blanco White (£8.49)

Marques de Caceres Blanco is a rich and dry white wine. Minerals lace through notes of grapefruit and pear, making this a fresh and crisp feeling wine on the palate.

We’re On Holiday – Our Anniversary Week Begins Here

Ant and I have come to Hemsby in Norfolk for the week to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary which is on Monday. We always try to get away for our anniversary week, just the two of us 🙂
It’s not always possible, but I’m going to make sure nothing stops us in 2020. I’ve actually been looking into deals now that I’ve realised how much we do fly when we can. I’ve been googling things such as “what is a jet card” to try and understand how I can make the most out of our travels together, whilst saving money! It’s also exciting planning trips where we are sure to be flying in style. We’ll be celebrating our 15th Wedding Anniversary and I want us to go to York Lakeside Lodges again for a week. It’s where we spent our honeymoon and we loved it. We always planned to go back, but somehow never got around to it.

As well as going to York, I want to save up to buy us matching platinum wedding rings. Ant’s wedding ring is battered beyond use so I thought it would be lovely to get matching ones. I don’t want a regular gold one, I want something a bit different and hopefully, Ant won’t be able to damage his as easily!

Anniversary Week

We left around 10 this morning and after stopping at Nanny’s then calling for a Costa coffee, we were off.

Costa Coffee - I'm now officially on holiday for our anniversay week

The chalet was available at 2 pm so we had time to stop off at McDonald’s for lunch. I really enjoyed it because it’s been over a year since I last had a McDonald’s!

After getting the keys to the chalet and unloading the car we went to Tesco to pick up our Click and Collect order. I’d ordered a meal deal so Ant didn’t have much cooking to do. For a tenner, it was a really good deal; we had potato dauphinoise, ham wellington and peas (not included in the deal) followed by salted caramel profiteroles. I think Ant enjoyed the bottle of red wine!

I’m not sure what we’re doing tomorrow yet. I saw a sign for some water gardens on the way here so I’m going to check it out.

I also want to find some charity shops and have a look at the books!

Happy Anniversary to my Super Wonderful Husband

We’ve been married for 8 years today and next month we’ll have been together for 10 years 🙂
I used the same photo on last year’s anniversary blog post; I did look for a different one to use but this one is my favourite so I’m using it again!
