New Year’s Eve Party

We usually spend New Year’s Eve on our own watching tv while the kids are either at Aiden’s dad’s or tucked up in bed at home.
This year the kids were at home and we decided it would be good to see the new year in together seeing as the girls are older. We invited family and friends for a buffet tea. It was great having Ant’s children here, the only ones missing were Kellyann and Jerome. It would have been lovely to have them all together but Jerome had to work and Kellyann had already visited numerous times over the holidays so was having a break from driving to Lincoln!
Jonathan’s over from China where he teaches English and he brought his lovely fiancee with him this time so we finally got to meet her 🙂

Everyone left before midnight so Ant and I played a game of Pictionary with the kids before they piled outside at midnight to see the fireworks. It was so lovely seeing their delight in the fireworks and shouting, ‘Happy New Year’ to anyone who could hear them!

Ant enjoyed having his boys here and unusually for him, got totally drunk a wee bit tipsy on all the red wine he’d been bought!

It was a really lovely evening and I’m hoping it’s a sign of good times ahead for us all this new year 🙂
