New Year’s Eve Plans

We don’t usually make any New Year’s Eve plans; we stay home and have a quiet night. If we manage to stay up until midnight we’re doing well!

This year is going to be different, however, because we’ve been invited to my brother and sister-in-law’s house for a New Year’s Eve party 🙂
They live in Derbyshire and we live in Lincoln so we’re going to be staying overnight.

I’m really looking forward to it. When I was growing up one or other of my aunts would have a party on New Year’s Eve and I loved going to them. It’s going to make a really nice to change to spend the evening with family.

New Year's Eve plans 2019

Do you have any special plans for New Year’s Eve?

New Year’s Eve Party

We usually spend New Year’s Eve on our own watching tv while the kids are either at Aiden’s dad’s or tucked up in bed at home.
This year the kids were at home and we decided it would be good to see the new year in together seeing as the girls are older. We invited family and friends for a buffet tea. It was great having Ant’s children here, the only ones missing were Kellyann and Jerome. It would have been lovely to have them all together but Jerome had to work and Kellyann had already visited numerous times over the holidays so was having a break from driving to Lincoln!
Jonathan’s over from China where he teaches English and he brought his lovely fiancee with him this time so we finally got to meet her 🙂

Everyone left before midnight so Ant and I played a game of Pictionary with the kids before they piled outside at midnight to see the fireworks. It was so lovely seeing their delight in the fireworks and shouting, ‘Happy New Year’ to anyone who could hear them!

Ant enjoyed having his boys here and unusually for him, got totally drunk a wee bit tipsy on all the red wine he’d been bought!

It was a really lovely evening and I’m hoping it’s a sign of good times ahead for us all this new year 🙂
