New Year’s Day Dinner

New Year’s Day Dinner

Aiden and Ella were still in Belper yesterday as they had stayed at Aiden’s dads for New Year’s Eve. Kaycee came home the Friday before because she had plans to spend New Year’s Eve at her friend’s house. Ant and I spent a lovely quiet evening in together and managed to stay awake long enough to see in the New Year!
We invited Nanny and Granddad for New Year’s Day dinner and Kaycee came home in time to eat with us.

New Year's Day Dinner

Ant cooked us an absolutely delicious roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner. The mashed and roast potatoes were to die for and the gravy was wonderfully tasty.

I’ve been back on Slimming World since the 28th December but I allowed myself some extra syns yesterday. I did swap the soup starter for low syn prawn cocktail and the Christmas pudding and brandy cream for SW strawberry Eton mess, saving myself about 20 syns!

We all really enjoyed the dinner and both Ant and I said it was even better than our Christmas dinner!

Looking ahead

I’m looking forward to the coming year. Last year wasn’t too bad for us and I’m hoping 2017 will be a good one.

I was supposed to be taking the Christmas decorations down today but I’m putting it off. I’m a little reluctant to admit Christmas is over! I miss the fairy lights most of all when it’s time to pack them away.
I’ve got until 12th night to get them down so I’m going to enjoy them for a little while longer!
