Story Books for Advent – Bedtime Story Every Night

For a few years now I’ve wanted to wrap up 24 different Christmas story books so the girls could open one each night of advent and be surprised with a new story.

A selection of Christmas story books

Since starting my volunteering job at the charity shop I’ve been able to sort through the books and reserve them until I could collect them and today I completed our new collection of 24 Christmas stories for advent 🙂

I’m so excited! I can’t wait to get them wrapped and for December 1st to get here so we can read our first one.
I was going to use some of the books that we already have but I thought that seeing as they were so cheap it would be nice to have 24 completely new stories this year.

The girls are going to love it because they look forward to story time every night and they’re going to think it’s brilliant to unwrap a new book 🙂
I think this is going to become a much loved Christmas tradition in our house!

I love this idea, and even more so that you found some classic books in the charity shop. Christmas traditions don't need to be expensive do they

I love this idea, I must go for a root around our charity shops this week and see if I can find enough- otherwise I may just do the last ten days or something!

This is such a lovely idea. I used to love storytime too and still love reading children's stories. Advent is a great opportunity for unwrapping Christmas stories.

That is such a lovely idea. We have lots of festive books now, I normally only give the boys one each on Christmas Eve and one each on Christmas Day though. Enjoy December!

We have a couple of Festive books. I might add a few to the collection, especially Enid Blyton.

I love this idea, we already buy way too many books but may need to get some more Christmas themed ones 🙂

I have some wonderful story books for Advent but my children are getting too old for most of them, SOB! However, I did fish "Donkey's Glory" out of the loft, which I'm going to read to the younger two this December.

I did this with the boys when they were smaller – it is a great idea
