Ant’s Margherita Pizza – #GBBOBloggers2017

We’ve not been able to join in with the Great British Bake Off Blogger’s 2017 for a couple of weeks. Things have been hectic around here but here’s  Ant’s Margherita pizza that he found time to make yesterday and Ella loved it 🙂
She said the cheese on it was really lovely. It didn’t look very filling but she only had two pieces and she couldn’t eat anymore.

He used Prue’s recipe from the Bake Off website but instead of using 10g of fresh yeast, he used 3g of easy bake yeast.
I didn’t get to try it because of being on Slimming World and using all my syns on a doughnut! It did look delicious, I have to admit.

Ant’s Cottage Loaf – Great British Bake Off Bloggers 2017

Cottage Loaf

I’m not putting the recipe here for the Cottage Loaf because Ant used Paul Hollywood’s recipe. I can’t comment on how it tastes as I don’t eat white bread at the moment. The fact that it’s now all gone, though, seems to suggest that it was lovely!

I have to thank Ella for her help with this blog post. She took the wonderful photos for me because I’ve been so busy this week. I’ve been moving Kaycee’s and Ella’s bedroom around and re-organising. Their room is now looking wonderful but the rest of the house isn’t doing so well! The mess seems to have spread throughout the rest of the house!

Anyway, back to the bread! Ant loves bread week because he makes fresh bread every day for himself and the kids. Ant likes to try different types of bread and new recipes.
He said he could taste the difference with the lard being added in this recipe. He never uses lard in his bread.

Ant was very pleased to get Star Baker last week for his Fortune Cookies 🙂

Fortune Cookies – Great British Bake Off Bloggers’ 2017

Fortune Cookies

We were going to try making a board game for this week’s bake off challenge. We ran out of time, again, and decided to make fortune cookies instead.
They’re fun and we’ve never made them before so it was more of a challenge.

Last Week Kaycee made Cherry Cake but Ant has to make the fortune cookies this week due to time constraints.

Here are some of the fortunes Ant put in the cookies. I did wonder whether he was going to write out some Tim Vine jokes and put those in. He has a Tim Vine joke book with lots of cheesy jokes that make the girls groan!

He decided to Google some fortunes and print them out instead to make life easier. I have to mention that we have a new printer. It’s a wifi printer and he was excited that he was able to print from his phone!

Cherry Cake Recipe – #GBBOBloggers2017

Cherry Cake

The Great British Bake Off is back and I was totally ok with the new presenters. It’s not the same without Mary but I like Prue so I’m still going to be enjoying watching every week.
Kaycee and Ant are going to be baking every week so we can link up with Jenny’s GBBO Bloggers 2017 linky 🙂

This week I totally forgot to organise something for Kaycee to make and it was only yesterday I remembered. Kaycee really wanted to make a cake that didn’t look like a cake but it was too late.
She’s making a cherry cake instead using fresh cherries.

I’ve told her to watch Bake Off with us on Tuesday and decide that night what she wants to make so we can be better prepared!

Kaycee decorated the cooled cake with the leftover cherries and everyone, except me, enjoyed a piece after dinner!
