Work, Rain & Snails

Not much to say today because I’m really tired. I do, however, want to say a huge thank you to my wonderful husband who has been working on my raised beds for the best part of the day. He’s gone to bed aching all over…..here’s hoping he doesn’t suffer too much tomorrow. I’m excited because things…

One of those days

It’s one of those days for me today….one of those, I know I have a hundred and one things to do but all I really want to do is…. nothing. I’m tired because my back was very painful last night and kept waking me up. I have a headache because I didn’t get much sleep…

I’m so excited…

and I surprised myself with the level of excitement I actually felt when I opened my greenhouse and saw that all my seeds have started to grow! I turned round to share the news with Ant and must admit to being a little disappointed when I found he’d gone inside and there was no one there to…

Let them bake cake :)

The kids love baking. Doesn’t matter what they make, they just love the whole process. Ella made delicious cookies the other week and KayCee’s sponge cake is always light and fluffy. Yesterday, Aiden and KayCee made cupcakes while Ella and I made a Victoria sponge. Ella likes to get messy! The best bit about baking is licking…

Messy Strawberries

Strawberry plant

The time came for our first strawberries and cream of the summer and I had mine messy! By messy, I mean, I made Eton Mess, from a recipe I found here. It’s from Delia and it’s super fast and easy. KayCee, (for some strange reason!) doesn’t like cream so I bought Carte D’or, strawberry and yogurt delice ice cream.…

Sports Day #1

Ella sportsday

It was Ella’s first sports day today and she was super excited about it this morning. The thing she loved most, was having to go to school in shorts, t-shirt and trainers instead of her school uniform. She likes to leave her long hair down usually but we tied it back today and it looked lovely…

Growing my own….hopefully!

Wildflower

So my herbs, apart from one basil plant, which I think has been food for some kind of caterpillar, are doing really well. The coriander, which is one of 2 herbs that I’ve grown from seed, looks like it’s going to start flowering soon *smiles*. It’s getting very tall and I’m looking forward to harvesting the…
