Kaycee and Ella have a Halloween party planned and they’ve been searching for food and drink ideas. We tried this bloody hot chocolate recipe, (just to make sure it tasted ok before we serve it to the guests, obviously) and we all loved it!
I do need to find a better red food colouring though. These are pink rather than blood red!
Bloody Hot Chocolate
It’s very simple to make, you can even put all the ingredients in the slow cooker and leave it to heat up throughout the day.
We did ours on the cooker, though, and it only took about 20 minutes which included getting the glasses decorated.
I used white cooking chocolate from Tesco and each piece weighs 5g. We know this because they’ve printed it on the chocolate!
600ml Full-fat milk
200g Good quality white chocolate
Strawberry or raspberry ice cream sauce
Break up the white chocolate and put in a bowl until needed.
Add the milk to a saucepan and heat gently until hot but not boiling.
Add the white chocolate to the milk. Keep stirring until the chocolate melts.
Add some red food colouring and stir well.
Put some of the ice-cream sauce in a bowl and dip the rim of the glass in the sauce then cover in sprinkles. It’s easier if you pour sprinkles in a bowl and dip the glass.
Carefully fill the glass with the hot chocolate then add squirty cream on top.
Put some red sprinkles on the cream and serve straight away.
