Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

We’re working on our summer bucket list and yesterday we made chocolate ice cream ๐Ÿ™‚ We used a recipe Ant found on YouTube (video at the bottom of the post) and I have to say it’s one of the nicest ice creams I’ve ever tasted!

However, it’s sooooo rich, the portion above is absolutely too big for just about anyone to stomach! This is coming from the person who can eat a full tub of Ben and Jerry’s in one evening (well, not anymore, since being on Slimming World because eating that much is what got me needing to go in the first place!) with no problem at all.

I suggest serving it on a small waffle cone and savouring every delightful lick!

Chocolate Ice Cream

Ice cream ingredients

You’ll need:

160ml double cream
200ml condensed milk
80g icing sugar
1 and a quarter teaspoons of vanilla extract
2 and a half tablespoons cocoa powder

Method

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix, using an electric mixer for around 5 minutes until it’s nice and smooth and thick.

Transfer to a freezer-proof container and freeze for an hour. Give it a stir to break up the ice crystals then freeze for a further 7 hours.

Add any flavourings you like. Next time we’re going to make rocky road ice cream ๐Ÿ™‚

Yum!! My dad has just started making his own ice cream – we had strawberry today which was delicious. I'm going to forward this to him to try! Thank you!!

That looks delicious! I make my own – but it's slightly different as it's "free from"!

That sounds delicious. For a healthier version freeze a banana and add some cocoa!

I love icecream but bizarrely not a massive chocolate fan. I may try to adapt it as it does look great x

Just leave out the cocoa powder, for vanilla ice cream

Mmmmm yum! I do like the idea of an ice cream that's too rich to eat lots of – bet I could give it a good shot, though!
