Lovely Mother’s Day

The kids stayed home this weekend as it was Mother’s Day, however Aiden went to stay at his friends for the weekend so I didn’t get to see much of him after all!

Kaycee made plans with her dad to cook me a cake for mother’s day and asked her sister, Kellyann for a Slimming World cake recipe.
They made it together on Saturday with a little help from Ella and Kaycee’s friend Chloe; they gave it to me Saturday afternoon as an early present and we had it for dessert after dinner. I have to say it was absolutely delicious and I’m buying more ingredients so she can make me another one!

I woke around 8.30 on Sunday morning and Kaycee was waiting for me to wake up so she could get daddy to make me a coffee and bring it to me in bed!
She came up with Ella and they had a menu for me to choose my breakfast from.
I picked a cheese and ham toasted sandwich, yogurt and banana; Kaycee wrote it down and gave me a receipt that said ‘Kaycee and Ella’s Cafe!’ on it then went down to help daddy make it.

Kaycee carried it up on a tray and I had a lovely, leisurely breakfast in bed!

I was given lots of presents and Aiden phoned me mid morning to wish me happy mother’s day.
We spent a relaxing day watching tv before we went to visit Nanny to give her the present we’d bought.

Ella made me a card at school 🙂

I got Ant to take a picture of me and the girls. I don’t usually have my photo taken because like a lot of mums, I hate seeing myself but after reading this article I’ve vowed to get in the picture more so when I’m gone, my wonderful children will have those memories to look back on. That’s more important than worrying about how I look. To them, I’m their mum and that’s all they’ll care about 🙂

Another reason for taking the photo is because it’ll be interesting to compare this year’s photo with next year’s photo. I’ve lost just under 4 and a half stone with Slimming World since August so I’m hoping to have lost at least another 8 stone by this time next year 🙂

*Edit* I need to apologise to Kellyann (Ant’s daughter from his first marriage) for forgetting to include pictures and a thank you for the gorgeous lillies she bought me. They’re my favourite flower because they’re beautiful and have the most wonderful scent, which is filling the kitchen as we speak.
So thank you Kellyann for always remembering me on Mother’s Day, especially as I know how hard the day is for you xx
